Armstrong Vets are based rurally, just a short drive from Gloucester. Berkeley is a beautiful small town on the edge of the Cotswolds with great transport links, just off the J13/14 M5, making it easily commutable from Gloucester, Bristol, and Cheltenham.

Armstrong Vets is looking for a progressive, dedicated, all-round GP vet to continue the excellent care delivered to our clients with the support of a fantastic nurse team. You will have a real opportunity to establish yourself as the local vet and continue to contribute to an already very strong reputation in the local area. We welcome new ideas from all our colleagues; this is your practice and we want you to be happy there. With access to a tier 3 hospital just a short drive up the road who also provide the OOH care, you can have total confidence in providing a range of services to meet the needs of your patients and clients.
There really are fields on your doorstep, so ensuring you get time to enjoy some fresh air each day will not be a problem. The local pizza and bakery options have been thoroughly tried and tested, you won’t be let down. Armstrong Vets is a single site practice, and very fortunate to have a beautiful countryside base whilst being just a very short drive from J13/J14 of the M5. Berkeley is a beautiful small town on the edge of the Cotswolds and we are easily commutable from Gloucester, Bristol, and Cheltenham. We have a busy and varied first opinion caseload to support 4 full time equivalent vets and are extremely well supported by an experienced RVN and nursing assistant team and loyal reception team. Our clients are extremely well-bonded and engaged with the practice. We work closely with other practices within our VetPartners family and so there is excellent opportunity for additional exposure to caseload, equipment and a wealth of colleague to colleague support.

What will the role look like?
Ideally, this is a full-time role of 40 hours including a share in the Saturday rota, however a part time position would be considered. We are very open to explore flexible working patterns for the right person and encourage you to propose what you are after.

We are looking for an all-round candidate; an enthusiastic vet who is dedicated to delivering the highest level of care when presented with a diverse case load, and a conscientious, collaborative team leader with a desire, drive and vision to help shape our future.
Due to the current lead taking a step back, we are looking for someone who is passionate about ensuring our dedicated and caring team continue to have the very best opportunity to provide outstanding care for their patients, as well as delivering the right support for personal growth and development; we always welcome new ideas from all our team members when planning for the future. Responsibilities of this role include clinical work, coaching and mentoring of colleagues, and business strategy, planning and budgeting. We welcome attendance at and contribution to regular business support events. Previous managerial work is not essential.
